BREAST CANCER

Breast cancer is a disease commonly found in women but also found in men in rare cases. There are over 212,000 cases of breast cancer diagnosed in the USA each year. In Canada the figure is 20,500, in the UK the figure is 41,000.
The chances can be increased by:
Age
Contraceptive pill
Obesity
Heavy drinking
Hereditary
There are two main places in the breast where cancer can occur: the lobules (the milk-producing tissue) and the ducts (which carry the milk to the nipple।
Symptoms
Change in the size or shape of a breast
The nipple becoming inverted
Feel the breasts for any lumps।
Dimpling of the breast skin
It is important To detect breast cancer at an early stage because at this stage, it is easy to remove the lumps but at a later stage tissue around it might have to be removed for the safety of the patient.
PREVENTION
1. Eat your fruits and veggies
2. Limit your alcohol intake
3. Watch the meats you eat, especially smoked or cured foods.
4. Avoid smoking, whether it be actual smoking or secondhand smoke
5. Practice safe sex
6. Know your personal and family history of cancer.
7. Know what chemicals you are being exposed to in your work environment.
8. Have regular screening test
9. Exercise for cancer prevention.

CHIKENPOX

Chikenpox is a viral infection caused by varicella zoster virus. Although it is mostly common in children but can also occurs in adult and in most cases more severe than in children. It spreads from person to person by direct contact, through the air, sneezing or coughing in people who are not immune. It causes itchy blisters on every part of the body (from the scalp down to the legs) and discomfort. It is rarely found in people who are vaccinated but that does not mean such people cannot contract the desease.It takes 10-21days for the incubation to complete.
TREATMENT
There is vaccine all around for prevention. It is reccomended that everychild is vaccinated against this infection right from childhood.
When this rashes occur, It is better to tell children not to itch although it might be difficult. Wear socks on their hands to avoid itchying which might cause secondary infection.
Apply calamine lotion to reduce the itchying.
Pain reliever can also be taking.
Bath in cold water every 30 minutes to ease the itching.
Use a soft or mild bathing soap.
Do not rub towel on your body but dab it.
Do not get too warm and sweaty.
Drink plenty of water.
Antiviral drugs should be taken with your doctor’s priscription.
Infection In Pregnancy
Chikenpox in pregnant women can lead to viral transmission through the placenta to the foetus especially during the first trimester when the baby is just forming. This can cause a lot of damages as follows:
Damage to the brain
Damage to the eyes
Deformity in the hands and legs
Bladder malformation

HERBAL REMEDIES

Herbs had been used in ancient world as an incomparable cure foe various ailment and can still apply in our days. There are thousands of remedies one can derived from herbs. Herbs can also be combined to get another effect which could be more beneficial depending on the kinds of herbs and the ailment being treated. The following are some of the effective herbal remedies being used today:
GARLIC - Garlic is an antibiotic with anti-viral properties. It treats cholesterol, pile and prevents blood clots that cause heart attack. It could be used as seasoning for meat, fish and food in general. For tea, steep 6 cloves in a cup of cool water for 6 hours.
GINSENG - This stimulates the immune system and protects the liver from toxins and. It also aids the glowing of the skin.
BITTER LEAVE – It cleanses the blood and allows for easy flow of blood. It also helps in detoxification process. Take half a glass cup per day.
GINGER - prevents motion sickness and internal blood clots that cause heart attack. Make into juice and drinks on daily basis. 2 teaspoons powdered or grated root can be added to tea To treat motion sickness, take 2 to 3 capsules of 500 mg 30 minutes before departure.
GOLDENSEAL - This contains antibiotic. To prepare tea, ½ to 1 teaspoon powdered root per cup. Steeped for 10 minutes. Drink up to 2 cups per day.
RASPBERRY LEAF. - This is for treating morning sickness, uterine irritability and prevents threatened miscarriage due to pregnancy. For tea, 1 to 2 teaspoons per cup, steeped for 10 minutes and drink up to 3 cups per day.
PEPPERMINT - This is for indigestion and aids in relaxation. To make tea for indigestion, 1 teaspoon fresh or 2 teaspoons dried per cup. Steep for 10 minutes. Take up to 3 cups per day. For bath, fill cloth bag with dried or fresh leaves and run water over it.

EXCESSIVE SWEATING

Sweating is a body mechanism to help us cool down. However when this comes excessively, then there is a problem which is medically know as HYPERHIDROSIS.

Primary hyperhidrosis is a problem with the nervous system। A person sweats profusely in one area of the body or another such as the feet, under the arms, the head, palms of the hands, or any other area of the body where sweat glands reside।

Secondary hyperhidrosis is usually caused by an underlying cause. WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO EAT RIGHT

Eating right has a lot of positive impact on our health, people who do not eat right often develop malnutrition. This could be general malnutrition or under malnutrition from not eating enough of any kind of food or from not eating the right kinds of food. Anyone can develop general malnutrition but it is very dangerous for children, women and elderly people.

WOMEN of child-bearing age need extra food to stay healthy, to have healthy babies and to do their daily woks especially if they are pregnant.

Children also need a lot of different kind of food for growth. When these are lacking, it may result into various sicknesses and if care is not taking may result into death. A malnourished child does not grow well but thinner and shorter than other children, cry a lot, irritable , play less, get sick more often, and may easily loose weight.

Elderly people often loose their teeth and taste for food still, they need to eat well in order to stay healthy.

WHY IS SLEEP IMPORTANT?

Lack of sleep can be caused by emotional troubles, such as feelings of sadness and depression. Sleep helps keep us physically healthy but when someone is not getting enough of it there bounds to be problems such as headaches, weakness, inactiveness and the likes. These could slow down responses and concentration. We all need to sleep for at least 8 hours on daily basis to enhance good performance of every of our activities and also to be healthy.

Signs that you are not getting enough sleep
• feelings of depression
• Struggling to wake up from bed in the morning
• inability to concentrate during the day
• falling asleep during the day•

How To Get More Sleep?
Relax your mind. Avoid horror, scary, television shows right before bed

• Exercise regularly. Do not exercise right before bed, it can make it harder to fall asleep, exercising 5 or 6 hours before bedtime (in late afternoon) may help you sleep very well.

• Set a regular bedtime. When your body get used to going to bed at the same time each night and waking up at the same time every day make your body to be in control and to establish sleep patterns. So try to stick to your sleep schedule even on weekends.

• Avoid drinking beverages with caffeine, such as soda and coffee, after 4 PM. Smoking and drinking alcohol in the evening can also affect your sleep in the night.

• Avoid stimulants. Drinking alcohol in the evening can make you restless and wake up during the night.

• Right sleeping environment. Human beings tends to sleep best in a dark room that is slightly on the cool side. Lots of noise can be a sleep turnoff, too.

• Wake up with bright light. Bright light in the morning signals to your body that it's time to get going.

TOXINS IN THE BODY

Toxins are agents which are harmful to the body for example, tobacco smoke, factory pollution etc. these are created by the body during metabolic process and if left for a long time might cause problem for the body. So, it is better that these harmful agents are removed from the body. The process of removing these agents is called detoxification i.e. “cleaning the blood”. It is done by removing impurities from the blood in the liver, elimination of toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymph and skin.

The most important method of removing toxins from your body is through elimination of urine and stools. It is very important to have regular bowel movements to prevent the body getting back the toxic substances. Lemon juice in water has a slightly laxative effect and can be so effective in removing toxins from the body. Add a teaspoon of lemon into warm water and drink immediately after rising in the morning.

Water therapy is also good for toxin removal. Drink 1.5litters of water in the morning and wait foe about 45minutes before taking any other thing. Also get used to drinking water as much as needed during the day.

Fasting is another way to detoxify the body. Some people prefer fasting on water while some go for fasting on raw fruits and vegetables. Water fasting is more difficult but more effective. Not only will fresh fruits and vegetables diet eliminate toxins, it will improve vitality and stamina, help you digest better. Which ever one you decide on, do it under the supervision of your doctor.
